"Gary Gates Band Acoustic Live At The San Gregorio Store" by Gary Gates (Folk/Reggae artist from California)

"Gary Gates Band Acoustic Live At The San Gregorio Store" by Gary Gates is a live acoustic country folk rock album with no shortage of personality. The addition of mandolin mixed with the laid back arrangements really gives an island feel that makes for an almost hypnotic quality. Gary and his friends deliver well-harmonized vocals with a sense of being in the moment. Being a live recording, the quality is surprisingly good; simply by listening, you feel as though you are in the room with these guys. Even the sound of bottles clanking together is crisp. Highlights include "All Around This World," which will lull you with its nice layers and quirky vocals. Their covers of "No Woman No Cry" and "Friend of the Devil" are great takes on classics. "Heart River" has an attention-grabbing intro and a nice mandolin line throughout. Fans of heart-felt acoutic/folk tunes with vibrant personality will enjoy this collection.

“On Verra Plus Tard” by Drunksouls (Reggae Artist from France)

"On Verra Plus Tard" by Drunksouls is an outstanding funk/reggae rock collection. Groovy instrumentation, coupled with profusely soulful, pitch-perfect vocal performances give this album a very intriguing edge. The musicianship and recording quality are excellent. The opening track, "Pain of Life" wastes no time in showing off this band's tight, well-polished sound and flaunts a very contagious bass and drum groove. "Dear Lady" brings about a more laid back, acoustic feel and highlights the thought-provoking lyrics present in every tune. Moreover, "No More Fighting" features a hook-filled chorus and ventures almost exclusively to the reggae arena, reflecting this genre in both instrumentation and socially-driven lyricism. Being completely radio-ready, this collection is ready to soar off the ground. Fans of rock and reggae, you'll love this one!

“Gentle Whisper” by T.J. Marlatt (World Artist from Ohio(OH))

"Gentle Whisper" by T.J. Marlatt is a beautiful compilation that combines the sounds of nature with piano and native American flute to give these tracks the feel of the gentle nature of our world. The multi-cultural sound of many of the tracks such as "Trinity" take the listener on a journey of imagination to another time and place. The clever use of bird song and the call of the Lune in the introduction of "Gentle Whisper," combined with the dynamic use of a simple melody and strong piano presentation gives a transcendental feel to this track. This is a unique and very rewarding CD. T.J. has performed and produced a wonderful and appealing CD that has a peace-giving quality that rivals nature itself. The moving and powerful quality of the intro to "Moments of Reflection" gives the feeling of a building storm. Very dramatic! The entire CD is a tribute to creation and the sounds and feel of the natural world. This CD is a great selection if you are looking for a relaxing musical journey into the natural world around you.
